Jetty and Jetty Rock Foundation are stoked to announce our Highwater Healing Initiative. By purchasing a product from the Collection, 100% of profits will be donated to the clean-water initiative of YOUR choice from a list of like-minded organizations making a difference.

Through our foundation we’ve been able to donate over 1.5Million dollars back into our communities and developed our Oyster Recycling Program which is currently filtering over 10,000,000 Gallons of water per day through our established oyster reefs.

Highwater Healing will allow us to make a greater positive impact nationwide.

Cooper should probably just hold that trophy on the flight home, it isn't going to fit in the overhead compartment or in his board bag! Congrats to the entire Fortney family & the Manasquan HS Surf Team!

This week we received some disappointing news that Trevor Sensor wouldn't be able to perform at this year's Hop Sauce as previously announced. Here to help fill some big shoes are Jersey's own, Black Flamingos, who were just added to the lineup! You can't have music at the beach without some blistering surf rock, right? Tickets for Hop Sauce (June 4th in Beach Haven, NJ) are on sale now! In the meantime, check out their live version of the song, Okinawa!

Jetty Team Rider Dallas Tolson took part in the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge Mid-Atlantic Qualifier last week in Nags Head, NC. Riding for Duck Village Outfitters, one of a few fine Jetty retailers participating in the contest, Dilly Dall helped them nab a 5th place out of 10 competing teams. We're big supporters of this event and its format!

The 2016 Jetty Get Rad! Scholarship is available for students in the Long Beach Island Region, namely Southern Regional High School, Barnegat High School, and Pinelands Regional High School. Senior students should submit their cover sheet, resume, cover letter, and additional support as soon as possible! Please read the instructions on the cover sheet carefully and include all of the required items ~ incomplete submits will not be considered. We're stoked to extend these scholarships to all (3) LBI Region high schools thanks to your support of Jetty, our events, and the Jetty Rock Foundation...Good luck!

A Creative Cold War

We're big fans of unique and creative surf contests, so even with lackluster conditions for the inaugural Cold War, we applaud its success! Jetty Team Rider Randy Townsend was stoked to be a part of it, and even more stoked to help Team Gesler outduel Team Hammer! Jetty Hall of Fam'r Jon Coen was on the mic at the event, but also gave us the full rundown via ESM's Fight Club. Hats off to everyone who created this awesome, new tradition which will add another notch to the East Coast's tremendous surf culture!

The Endless Exhibit

On April 9th, the historic Tucker's Island Lighthouse will embody The Endless Summer 50th Anniversary exhibit. The Tuckerton Seaport and the New Jersey Surfing Hall of Fame have joined forces to bring this endless exhibit to the East Coast from the Smithsonian. Make sure you check it out before it returns to California on May 16th!

There's not a whole lot to say about this week's Music Monday feature, other than the music speaks for itself. Why? Because it's The Grateful Dead! Well ...not exactly. A huge labor of love that took several years of leg work, Day of the Dead (due out May 20th) is the National's (mostly) indie rock tribute to The Dead and will benefit Red Hot, the HIV/AIDS not-for-profit. The 59-track, box set features Dead covers by the National and friends like Wilco, the Flaming Lips, Courtney Barnett, the War on Drugs, the Walkmen, Kurt Vile and J Mascis, Jenny Lewis, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and a ton of other notable artists. Brooklyn's Big Thief recently announced that their debut record, Masterpiece, will be released through Saddle Creek Records on May 27th. The band's music, rooted in the songs of Adrianne Lenker, paints in vivid tones “the process of harnessing pain, loss, and love, while simultaneously letting them go, looking into your own eyes through someone else’s, and being okay with the inevitability of death,” says Adrianne. Jetty Team Rider Spencer Bridges has been selected for the 2016 U18 Great Britain National Surf Team! Spence will be traveling to France to train for potential selection for the 2016 ISA World Games in Portugal next September. Additionally, this group of surfers will form the basis for the Team Great Britain Development Squad leading to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo!

One of the things that we take pride in is quickly getting the money raised at our events to those in need. The 1st Annual Eskimo Outreach last month was well-attended and good karma came through once again as we were provided with some great weather! Thanks to your participation we have already donated 43,326.59 to (3) community members as well as a small donation to the Stafford Fire Department! The community participation and sponsorship of this first-time event is unmatched and you can mark February 25, 2017 on your calendars for the 2nd Annual Eskimo Outreach!

"a Minor Life" by sir Was

This week we're featuring sir Was! Growing up in a tiny village on the western coast of Sweden, Joel Wästberg had an early career as a jazz saxophonist that led to studying in Gothenburg (where he lives now) and an influential time at the University of Kwasulu-Natal in South Africa. From there Joel started focusing more on drums, and immersed himself in discovering pan-African rhythms & sounds, traveling through Mozambique and Zimbabwe, finding musical inspiration all along the way. The resulting range of styles is as uncommon and refreshing as Joel's story might suggest. sir Was is intricate without feeling complex, with driving beats and dynamically varied instrumentation weaving throughout. "Best American Girl" by Mitski

This week we're featuring new music from Mitski! On June 17th, Mitski's follow-up to 2014's Bury Me At Makeout Creek, titled Puberty 2 picks up where its predecessor left off. “It's kind of a two parter,” explains Mitski, “It's similar in sound, but a direct growth from that record.” Musically, there are subtle evolutions from the previous album: electronic drum machines pulse throughout beneath Pixies-ish guitars, while saxophone lights up its opening track. “I had a certain confidence this time. I knew what I wanted, knew what I was doing and wasn't afraid to do things that some people may not like.” The album's debut single Your Best American Girl is an awesome, super-sized punk-rock number.
