This Friday Rainbow Kitten Surprise will release their first album in six years! If you are a fan of RKS, then you were probably aware that the band had reconvened in the studio. This comes after a mighty struggle for Ela Melo, the frontperson who has battled mental health issues. It seems like Melo's quality of life has improved, so we're happy for her and to get a full-length jammed with new harmonies. Check out Superstar while we wait for Love Hate Music Box out May 10th!

Folks, we are Now in Motion! British artist William Doyle just dropped his Springs Eternal album and we're loving it. This is not his first foray, but maybe he's attacking new territory with these newest songs since 2021. He seems to be comfortable in his own skin, having ditched the East India Youth moniker, but writing from some outer body perspectives. Simply put, time doesn't stop, so how do your different versions of yourself measure up against it?

Next month Twenty One Pilots will release Clancy, their new album and the fourth which continues a story arc that started with Blurryface back in 2015. The Ohio duo of Tyler Joseph & Josh Dun are tough to classify, in a good way, because their songs span so many genres. We urge you to do the deep dive on the fictional character of Clancy. We love the creativity of the storyline, and here's a small part of it with their second single Next Semester!

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are gonna take a one-way trip to nowhere. The problem with that is The Black Keys have been so damn good at what they do, and they're about to drop another album called Ohio Players. Yeah, they're going somewhere. Catch them at South by Southwest where they will be performing as well as premiering their new documentary This is a film about The Black Keys! And here's a bonus bit, This Is Nowhere was co-written by Beck who also contributed to the album's lead single Beautiful People (Stay High)!

"Sinner" by The Last Dinner Party

The Last Dinner Party's debut album is finally here! Even though they had it completely finished before their first single Nothing Matters was released in April of 2023, the band still had plenty to prove. Their branding and energy at live shows more than holds up, and Lead Vocalist Abigail Morris puts it perfectly in this excerpt from a Q&A with The Luna Collective:

I think there's two things for that question. One, which is what we want to achieve for us on stage. And then another one, which is how we want people to feel.

We were having a discussion very early on about that question … “How do we want people to feel at our gigs and when they leave?” And what we kind of landed on was that we want people to leave the show feeling like they've just been at the best dinner party they've ever been to, with the coolest people and the best conversation. You're a bit drunk and you're full of ideas and energy.

Prelude to Ecstasy is full of awesomeness, and today we're featuring one of our favorite tracks, Sinner. Check it out!

One-man band James Goodson has been releasing projects as Dazy since 2020. We're loving the new single Forced Perspective which follows up last year's full-length release, Otherbody. You might remember Goodson from his collaboration with Militarie Gun in 2022 (Pressure Cooker), which was pretty popular, but nonetheless he has a great catalog of music to dig into!

Ducks Ltd. are about a month away from dropping their new album, Harm's Way. Train Full of Gasoline is based on a real life disaster in which a bunch of small errors compounded to lead to a catastrophe (Lac Megantic rail disaster in Quebec). Tom Mcgreevy has relayed that the song is about self-destructive patterns, and making sure that you don't let them stack up. Mcgreevy and bandmate Evan Lewis will be out and about this year representing their hometown of Toronto!

Nick Rattigan is a busy man and dropped his tenth album under his Current Joys moniker recently. This doesn't count the other four albums via Surf Curse, the band which he drums for and handles lead vocals. LOVE + POP serves up some classic Current Joys, but also some unexpected tracks (Lil Yachty and Lala Lala features as well as a cover of Lil Peep's walk away as the door slams). We're singling out CIGARETTES on this first day of 2024 ~ Happy New Year!

Less then a year ago the Strumbellas announced that their frontman Simon Ward was taking a back seat. Touring can take its toll, but the good news was that Ward was sticking around in the background to assist with writing songs. Now their first full length since 2019 will be out next month with Jimmy Chauveau (Ascot Royals) handling lead vocal duties. Hold Me is a nice upbeat anthem, perfectly fitting for Christmas Day ~ Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of our friends and family!

"Deeper Love" by Dante High

Ari Picker is perhaps our most fitting (and favorite) Draw Your Own Line story within the Music Monday series. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he formed Lost in the Trees and put out albums from 2007 to 2014 that saw success. He then essentially quit music, built a house in Pittsboro (NC), got married, and started a family. Picker went from not really knowing how to build a house to starting a construction business. He also runs a super cool, little studio called Goth Construction. In 2018, he returned to the music scene under the Dante High moniker. This is when we were introduced to his music and featured Green Swamp. Fast forward to the COVID era and Picker put out Dante High II, but a lot of people didn't hear it as it has just hit the big streaming services this Fall (~ 2 years later). So while this music isn't exactly brand new, it is to many, and we love it. Check out the video for Deeper Love!

This week's Music Monday is very New Jersey! Yes, we are a Jersey brand through and through, and very proud of the state where we operate and call home. Enter Real Estate, a Jersey band who are dropping their sixth LP this coming February. The new single, Water Underground, is based on The Adventures of Pete & Pete (of Nickelodeon fame). The video (below) features Danny Tamberelli and Michael C. Maronna, both of whom starred in what is cited as the greatest children's show ever. Both the video and the TV show were filmed in the Garden State! You can catch Real Estate on tour all across the US this March-April-May!
